Saw a guy try to board the metro later than anyone else. Thought that spearheading this charge with an outstretched arm holding a briefcase would force the doors to open as they were closing. Dude was left standing on the platform, but at least his briefcase got aboard.

DC? People try that all the time and don't realize that those doors don't work like elevator doors. They won't open and if you pry them open, that's a good way to have a train full of people pissed at you cause it will end up sending the train out of service.

Yeah. I challenged it once and found that if the majority of your body is through, you'll be alright, but otherwise don't even try (as Briefcase Man taught us). Other "fond" memories of that joint: the dude loudly playing the weird electric Chinese fiddle (possibly Federal Traingle),the Public Enemy-looking d-bags who bait people by posing next to Virgin Mary statues and spewing hate speech about religion (Metro Center), and the vertigo-inducing cavernous descents from the street to the platform (Tenleytown).

I haven't witnessed the decent in Tenleytown but Rosslyn is probably just as bad or worse. I've run down that escalator to make a train more times than I probably should have.
